What We Treat

At Samba Behavioral health we work to heal a broad spectrum of mental health conditions that impact how people think, feel, and function in daily life.

Mental health conditions we treat include:

Depression – Persistent sadness, loss of interest, or hopelessness that interferes with daily life.

Anxiety Disorders – Excessive worry, panic attacks, or physical symptoms of stress that affect functioning.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – Emotional distress or flashbacks following traumatic experiences.

Bipolar Disorder – Cycles of mood swings ranging from depression to elevated or manic states.

Trauma-Related Disorders – Lasting effects of emotional or physical trauma impacting mood, trust, and relationships.

Personality Disorders – Long-standing patterns of thinking and behavior that cause distress or difficulty relating to others.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – Unwanted, intrusive thoughts paired with compulsive behaviors to reduce anxiety.

Eating Disorders – Disordered eating behaviors and body image disturbances such as anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating.

Levels Of Mental Health Care

We offer flexible outpatient mental health treatment options that allow clients to attend therapy sessions during the day or after work, while continuing to live and recover at home.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) – Samba Behavioral Health’s most intensive level of mental health care, providing five hours of therapy per day, Monday through Friday, along with comprehensive medication management and clinical support. This program is ideal for those who need a structured, high level of care to stabilize symptoms but do not require around the clock residential supervision.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – a flexible level of mental health care offering three in-person therapy sessions each week, along with medication support. This program is ideal for individuals who need consistent therapeutic engagement while maintaining their daily routines, work, or family responsibilities.

Outpatient Program (OP) – The least intensive level of care at Samba Behavioral Health, offering weekly therapy sessions, ongoing accountability, and medication support within a flexible schedule. This program is ideal for individuals ready to maintain their independence while continuing to strengthen long-term mental health and stability.

Therapeutic Approaches

Every person’s experience with mental health is different, so a single approach rarely fits all. Having a diverse range of therapies available at Samba Behavioral Health ensures that each client receives truly individualized care, giving them exactly what they need to heal.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps clients accept difficult emotions and thoughts while committing to actions that align with their personal values. It builds mindfulness, resilience, and psychological flexibility for long-term growth.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It’s one of the most effective approaches for depression, anxiety, and other mood-related conditions.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT combines cognitive and mindfulness techniques to help clients regulate emotions, manage stress, and improve relationships. It’s particularly effective for mood disorders and trauma-related challenges.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)
MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented therapy that helps clients resolve ambivalence and strengthen motivation for positive change. It’s often used to support recovery and behavior modification.

Trauma-Focused Therapy
This therapy helps individuals safely process and heal from past traumatic events. It reduces emotional symptoms like anxiety and depression while fostering emotional resilience and lasting well-being.

Experiential Therapy
Experiential therapy uses hands-on, creative, or movement-based activities to help clients learn about their emotions and develop coping strategies.

Co-Occuring Disorders

The connection between addiction and mental health is stronger than many realize. It’s common for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma to turn to drugs or alcohol in search of temporary relief.

Unfortunately, self-medicating with substances, whether prescription medications, alcohol, or illicit drugs, often worsens symptoms over time.

Without proper treatment, this cycle deepens both the addiction and the underlying mental health condition, leaving individuals trapped in silence instead of finding true healing.

At Samba Behavioral Health, we also provide integrated treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Our coordinated approach addresses both conditions simultaneously, helping clients achieve lasting recovery, emotional stability, and a renewed sense of balance in their lives.
